Cultureshock Media orchestrated the production of a striking and
memorable catalogue for the inaugural Folkestone Triennial in 2008. The
Triennial is an important new art festival which debuted in the Kent
seaside town from June to September 2008. The first Triennial featured
public installations, including sculpture, photography, films and
performance by international artists including Christian Boltanski,
Tracey Emin, Mark Wallinger and Langlands and Bell.
Cultureshock Media developed the catalogue and website in close
collaboration with the curators and organisers of the Folkestone
Triennial, alongside graphic designers Graphic Thought Facility (GTF)
and with its own network of programmers, designers and editors. The
resulting elegant piece of print helped put Folkestone’s groundbreaking
new cultural event on the map, selling out its initial print run within a
few weeks of the Triennial’s opening.
